My skin goes through fazes where its really really clear and I barley have to wear foundation at all, it also goes the opposite way and has a complete hormonal meltdown with breakouts cropping up here there and everywhere. When this happened I have found some brilliant products that really work to cover skin without looking like you have been caked in makeup.
Nars Pore & Shine Primer is a new product in my makeup bag. This is the only primer that minimizes the appearances of my large pores and keeps my skin for going really shiny in the T-Zone too. I really like the formula too, It’s a light weight cream that does not feel at all like rubbing silicone into the skin but it seems to act as a glue that holds my foundation in place, I have been using it with all of my different foundations all week and I have been really impressed.
Giorgio Armani Power Fabric Foundation is an epic foundation. When I first apply it I think it looks a bit dry on the skin. Give it an hour and my skin looks incredibly flawless in this. I like to apply this with my Bobbi Brown Buffing Brush and really blend it into the skin for a truly undetectable finish. This is a pretty full coverage so I tend to only wear it for nights out or special occasions but due to my breakouts I had to pull out the big guns and use this a few days last week.
Mac Cream colour Base – Hush This is my favourite highlighter, I apply it with my fingers to the top of my cheek bones & on the bridge of my nose. I like to apply this creamy highlighter after my foundation and before bronzer. This way there is no visible lines between bronzer and highlight, ya know what I mean?
Bobbi Brown Medium Bronzer This is one of my favourite bronzers and something I always come back too. Its quite dark so go a little easy with it. I like this to add a bit of warmth to my skin, I don’t use a lot but I do sometimes think less is more, Occasionally. I also Have been using my Clinique Cheek pop in Melon pop to add a bit of brightness to my complexion, I like this blusher, Its pretty!
Because I have been focusing more on perfecting my complexion I have been keeping my eyes and lips really simple. I always use my Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara, Its cheap & the best for my eyes, It packs a punch in the voluminous and lengthening department with out smudging either. I pair the mascara with Mac Teddy Eye liner. Im not precise with the application of this, I prefer it to look a little messy and smudgy so I just whack it on.
I have been finishing the look with My Nars Dolce Vita lipstick, Its a great pinky nude and you can apply this without a mirror as it is really similar in colour to my natural lips. last year I saw Alex Steinner mention it and it looked fab on her. I love the creamy formula because it feels like its nourishing my lips while adding a subtle colour to them.
I am currently trying out some new skincare for problematic skin so be sure to follow my blog for when these posts are published.
